Zhiwei Jiang
Principle Investigator
Dr. Zhiwei Jiang completed his undergraduate studies at University College London, followed by a PhD in Chemical Engineering at Imperial College London in 2017. He then worked as a postdoctoral research associate at Imperial College and Queen Mary University of London. His research focuses on the design and fabrication of ultrathin, porous, and functionalized membranes for advanced separations, including reverse osmosis, hydrocarbon fractionation, and pharmaceutical enrichment.
In 2022, he was awarded the prestigious Future Leaders Fellowship and began his current role as Head of Membrane Research at Exactmer Limited. He joined Nanyang Technological University (NTU) as a Nanyang Assistant Professor in August 2025.
Dr. Jiang has published his research as first or corresponding author in leading interdisciplinary journals, including Nature, Science, Nature Materials, and Advanced Materials, etc.
Tobias Wong
Research Fellow
Dr. Toby Wong received his PhD degree from Imperial College London and subsequently conducted postdoctoral research there. He joined the UNIC team in 2025.
Xiaoming Xu
Research Fellow
Dr. Xiaoming Xu obtained her PhD degree from Nanjing University and Bachelor’s degree from Ocean University of China. She joined the UNIC group in 2025.
Yuting Qian
PhD candidate
Yuting graduated from Imperial College London with the Master’s degree and gained Bachelor’s degrees from Harbin Institute of Technology. She joined the group in 2025.
Cuiting Ding
PhD student
Cuiting gained her Bachelor’s and Master's degrees from Ocean University of China and Tianjin University, respectively. She joined the team in 2026.
Tracie Widjaja
PhD student
Tracie holds her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Groningen and her Master’s degree from Leiden University. She joined the UNIC group in 2026.
Jiaao Yao
PhD student
Jiaao graduated with a Master’s degree from Donghua University. He joined the team in 2026.
Pengfei Dai
Undergraduate student
Pengfei completed her high school education at Shenyang No. 27 High School in Liaoning, China, and is currently an undergraduate student majoring in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. She joined the group in 2026.
